Steve Sashihara is the co-founder and CEO of Princeton Consultants Inc., which blends information technology and management consulting for a diverse set of industry leaders and innovators.
Steve is the author of The Optimization Edge: Reinventing Decision Making to Maximize All Your Company's Assets (McGraw Hill), the first non-technical book to explain optimization to the busy business executive. In 2012 Steve contributed the article, “From Big Data to Big Optimization: What Every Executive Needs to Know,” to The European Financial Review.
In 2013 Steve was a featured speaker at GE’s Mind + Machines conference, where he discussed “The Optimized Industrial Business” and introduced a maturity model to help companies assess their state of optimization and identify areas of opportunity. On the subject of optimization’s growing impact, Steve delivered a plenary speech to the European Operations Research community at the OR2013 Conference in Rotterdam.
For the Association of Management Consulting Firms (AMCF), Steve has served in a variety of leadership roles, including co-chairman. He represents Princeton Consultants in the INFORMS Roundtable, a group of top-level leaders in applied optimization for large businesses.
Steve graduated in 1980 from Princeton University with a B.A. in Philosophy. He serves on the advisory council for the university's department of Operations Research and Financial Engineering (ORFE).
