Princeton Consultants Optimization Practice:
Princeton Consultants helps our clients apply operations research techniques to create customized software systems that optimize their business decisions. Typical applications include:
- Real-time Scheduling
- Pricing and Yield Management
- Territory Alignment
- Asset Allocation
- Asset Purchase Analysis
Our clients include many of the largest and most well known companies in the supply chain – including world-class transportation, manufacturing, and distribution companies.
How We Work
Our project methodology is a proven technique we call RAD, for Rapid Action Delivery. RAD provides for a complete project lifecycle from opportunity analysis with the business executives, through design options, algorithm development, and implementation/integration.
In addition to using a variety of commercial and public-domain solvers and algorithms (including integer and linear programming techniques), we have built valuable partnerships with top researchers and professors in leading universities to apply state-of-the-art techniques to solve particularly difficult problems (e.g., handling uncertain, probabilistic, “dirty”, or “fuzzy” data).
Strategic Studies
Strategic studies use optimization technology to help senior management rigorously analyze the financial and service impact of various alternatives they are considering. The potential savings and value creation in this area can often be the single most leveraged investment a company makes all year.
Operational Systems
We help our clients by creating optimization-based software components that interface in real-time with their existing MIS systems. Using well-documented and rigorous techniques, these components improve the speed and quality of decisions. Depending on the area, minor improvements in existing operational decisions of even small percentages can so dramatically reduce costs and improve service that the business and its position in the marketplace are transformed. |
