CERN honored Andrzej for his contributions to the operation of luminosity measurements.  Andrzej previously earned M.Sc. and B.Sc. degrees in Physics at Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland, where he designed an algorithm for a real-time data preprocessing application to classify signatures of electromagnetic particles. He is a trained classical pianist and enjoys skiing and squash. Andrzej was born and raised in Rzeszow in eastern Poland, and he periodically visits his family there.
