Starting September 10, Stefan Sabo joins us from the University of Maryland, where he is pursuing his PhD in Mathematics and teaching courses in probability and statistics. Stefan won a Thouron Award, which funds study in the United Kingdom, and earned a Master of Advanced Study degree at the University of Cambridge. He previously completed a Master’s degree in Mathematics at the University of Pennsylvania, where his thesis addressed probability, stochastic processes and algebraic number theory.
Stefan received his BA in Mathematics from Penn as well, and graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. He was a three-year University Scholar for his commitment to academic research. As a freshman, he was a student delegate from Pennsylvania for the United States Senate Youth Program. In his spare time, Stefan enjoys playing the piano, attending classical music performances, chess, traveling, and keeping up-to-date with politics and current events.
