For Optimization Practitioners, Irv Lustig to Review the History of OB1

March 15-17, 2020

At the INFORMS Optimization Society biennial conference in Greenville, SC, Princeton Consultants Optimization Principal Irv Lustig will give a talk about his work with Dave Shanno, the influential mathematician and researcher. In 1989, Irv and Dave began collaborating on primal-dual infeasible interior point methods for linear programming, which led to Dave, Roy Marsten and Irv being awarded the Beale-Orchard Hayes prize from the Mathematical Programming Society in 1991. Irv will review the development of OB1 and primal-dual infeasible interior point methods, which have become foundational in all commercial linear programming packages.
