Alex joins us from Caltech, where he earned an MS in Physics with a focus in Quantum Computing. Alex researched quantum algorithms for simulating quantum field theories, collaborated with international teams, and published several papers. As a researcher in the quantum computing summer school at Los Alamos National Laboratory, he applied machine learning and high-performance computing techniques to his research on quantum algorithms. He was a TA at Caltech for various introductory physics courses. Previously, Alex graduated with highest honors from Georgia Tech with a BS in Physics and a Minor in Mathematics. He was president of the Society of Physics Students and won several awards and a scholarship for excellence in Physics. A San Antonio, TX native, Alex enjoys hiking, camping, rock climbing, weightlifting, coffee, and board games.
