
Lazar joins us from Carnegie Mellon, where he graduated with honors with a BS in Statistics and Machine Learning. In the CMU Mechanical and AI Laboratory, Lazar researched environmental impact on deep reinforcement learning in robots, and he co-authored a paper on the effects of rewards in deep reinforcement learning. Project work included creating simulations to assist evaluation of an election auditing system. As an intern data scientist for a mining company, Lazar assisted production modeling and prediction, graphical dashboarding, and anomaly detection. For a bank, he conducted statistical analysis of stocks and he examined linguistic optimism in financial reports. Lazar was a member of the Carnegie Mellon Swimming team. He enjoys distance running and making electronic music. Lazar grew up in Manhattan and Rockland County, NY.
