Nick joins us from Columbia University, where he earned an MS in Applied Mathematics. His project work included manifold embedding of audio data to better describe sounds, and research of conditions where probabilistic representations help solve partial differential equations. Previously Nick earned a BA in Mathematics with a Minor in Economics from the University of Minnesota. He tutored high school students in 21 different areas ranging from calculus to microeconomics to European history. As an intern for a gas systems manufacturer, Nick helped design custom generators, performed testing of process changes, and helped design Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs). Nick played competitive hockey in Canada for a season. In his spare time, he enjoys rock climbing, reading and writing fiction, and strategy games. Nick grew up in St. Louis.
