Olivia joins us from Brown University, where she graduated magna cum laude with an Sc.B. in Computer Engineering. Olivia is a member of the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Association and received an SEG scholarship and a Society of Women Engineers Scholarship. At Brown she helped teach introductory engineering courses. Olivia interned at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab, helping build cloud computing capabilities, and creating probabilistic simulations. At the Johns Hopkins Computational Sensory Motor Systems Lab, she prototyped an electromyographic sensor/processor unit for medical research. She studied for one year at the Department of Engineering Science at the University of Oxford in England, where her academics included neural network development. With Brown Space Engineering, Olivia researched the deployment of solar panels on satellites, built models of satellite components, and tested the effects of space-like conditions on extremophile organisms. Olivia helped lead a novel writing club at Brown and she participated in the St. Edmund Hall Writing Society at Oxford. A parkour enthusiast, Olivia actively took part in clubs at Brown and Oxford. She also enjoys rock climbing and hiking, and learning to play musical instruments. Olivia grew up in the Baltimore area.
