Princeton Consultants Welcomes Dr. Emily Palmer as a Senior Associate

September 13, 2023

Emily joins us from Caltech, where she earned her PhD and MS in Aerospace Engineering. Her research focused on locomotory control algorithms and their neuronal implementation in fruit flies, with applications in neuroscience and as inspiration for robotic control. At Caltech Emily spearheaded the development of a new, required course for graduate students on the intersection of history, ethics, and identity in STEM; she invited speakers from across the country, trained student facilitators, and led discussion groups. Emily also initiated a preparatory bootcamp for oral examinations to improve equitability in exam outcomes and to help students to master public speaking skills. She published papers and received awards for both the course and the bootcamp, which have continued and expanded, and she was recognized for mentoring and scholarly achievement. Previously, Emily earned her BS in Mechanical Engineering at Johns Hopkins, where she conducted research at the Flow Physics and Computation Lab; performed software and data engineering for Globus Medical; and tutored students in writing. Emily grew up in Exeter, NH. She enjoys baking and entertaining her two dogs in her spare time.
